MEET GRACE
The Ground Robotic Assistant for Care Enablement
GRACE provides support for a variety of disabilities including: cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, ALS, arthritis, elderly and many more!
STYLE &
APPEARANCE
GRACE provides state of the art, modern, design derived from input received directly from people with disabilities who will be using the product.
DESIGN
EASE
OF USE
The mobile robotic arm assists people with mobility challenges by reducing the risk of falls and confidently performing activities of daily living.
ASSIST
MOBILE
PLATFORM
GRACE is an independent platform with a zero radius turn that can be controlled through a mobile app on a smartphone or a joystick. This allows GRACE to independently grab items for users.
REACH
WELL-BEING &
INDEPENDENCE
Through innovative assistive technology, GRACE aims to provide the sense of well-being and independence by no longer having to depend on caregivers to pick items off the ground for them.
IMPROVE
“I have come across a lot of inventors who do not have disabilities. Most of them missed the mark completely with their inventions. You have a very keen mind for finding things that would actually be useful.”
– Dan Hodges
WATCH GRACE IN ACTION
DESIGN ELEMENTS
The hand grabs and holds items to bring items off the ground level to prevent bending over or down to the ground level.
The arm extends up and down, out and in to help reach objects near and far for the operator.
The tripod wheels allow for GRACE to travel independently away from the operators stationary position or wheel chair for increased independence.
DESTINED TO IMPROVE THE LIVES
OF THOSE WITH DISABILITIES FOREVER.
GRACE allows users to pick up items without bending down, reducing the risk of falling and the need to rely on caregivers, thus improving quality of life and self-confidence.
"Can I take it home with me?"
USER EXPERIENCE
Richard and Sebastian had the opportunity to use and test the protoype GRACE. At one point Sebastian asked if he could take it home with him. Sebastian controlled the robot with the handheld device and picked up various items from around the room.
